1 /5 Jay Lyon: I was extremely happy with Lifetime Dental Spa until my most recent cleaning on 8/17. During my cleaning, the dental assistant told me it was time to complete a fluoride treatment. After asking her if this was a covered service at 100% under my dental insurance, she reassured me it was covered and I agreed to get the service. After my cleaning was completed, I went to the front desk to make sure I did not have any additional paperwork to sign. That is when the manager informed me I would be charged for the fluoride treatment. I mentioned to her that her dental assistant told me this was a covered service. Additionally, the dental assistant even mentioned to the manager that she told me the fluoride treatment was covered under my dental insurance, but the manager was persistent on charging me!
I understand mistakes happen and I was never upset at the dental assistant. But if your employee admitted to their mistake, you should NOT try to force your customer to pay for your employees mistake. Instead, you should utilize this experience to educate your employee(s) that fluoride treatments are not covered under dental insurance. Your customer(s) should NOT have to throw a fit to get their point across.
I definitely wont be returning to this dental clinic, which is very unfortunate...
