Zari Kalo The owner, Betty Upham, has been a stylist for over 40 years. Her chair side manner is delightful. She offers fresh home baked goodies​, hot coffee​, and cold or hot filtered water daily. The building offers a parking lot. The only drawback is the 13 steps down to her studio.

Princess is hilarious and she was extremely honest about the health of my hair and fixed me right on up! Silk press still silky after almost 2 weeks. Oh! And she made me and my friend a good mimosa while we waited! I will be back!

Deidra Rodgers Princess is amazing. Not only is she amazing with her craft, she has a welcoming, loving spirit. I go both for natural and extensions. My natural hair has flourished since I’ve chosen her as my stylist. She also gives tips on how to care for your natural hair at home. I have also gotten sew-in extension service with Princess. My sew ins have always lasted so long! I have found my go to stylist for sure!! Oh and the shop definitely gives PRETTY vibes!!

Anthony I was scheduled to see Cecilia today not only Was she running 40 minutes late, but she was sleeping in her room where she treats people out of so unprofessional!!!! as she opened the door to the treatment room it reeked like alcohol like she had had a long night the night before. She smelled like alcohol and ruined my entire morning . Find a better place do not go with her.

Gods Creative I’ve been coming to Splendid African Hair Braiding for three years now, and I can honestly say this is the best hair braiding salon I’ve ever been too. The service is wonderful, my hair always comes out beautiful, clean parts, and professional! Deborah is so professional and a sweet person. Lenora did my Box Braids and hands down the best box braids I have gotten. She done it again with my French Braids. This will be a Solon that I will be continuing coming too for a long time. You need to book an appointment here!

charisma johnson My first time here and I have nothing but good things to say. First, they are very polite and welcoming. Second they are very knowledgeable and professional. I went in and had a certain style in mind. She let me know right away that if she were to put that style in my head, it would severely damage my hair. Third, they had fair pricing, and explained why each style had a different cost. I lost faith in hair salons in this area a very long time ago. Bad experiences all around. After going here today, they have earned a life long customer. Worth every penny! Thank you ladies❤️

Don Brown Jr One of the worse experiences with booking a service. Pics attached. Booked an appointment online on their website. Even texted to confirm that the appointment will be accepted. She ask what time I will be there and I gave her my appointment time. She canceled and said she has someone else coming. I live about an hour away and all she said to me was “sorry. Book somewhere else. Not worth the time and frustration.

The first time I walked in there, I was welcomed with open arms and they made me feel like I was a long time friend. I will literally never go anywhere else for my hair. Faren Brown I had the most amazing experience with Esmeralda! She was so sweet and had such amazing energy. The entire space was clean and decorated so nicely. I absolutely love the turn out of my brows and she explained to me perfectly on how to keep up with them and take care of them. Definitely would recommend coming to these ladies!

simplysoniasworld Annai is super kind and fun. I was thrilled to find someone local who does vivid hair color cuz Ive been going into Chicago for years. But Annai was super enthused about what I wanted to do, despite my nervousness that Id look bad. In addition, she took my overgrown mane and gave me the cutest A line cut. And the Pravana colors she chose for my Candy Corn hair are so perfect! She also had cold water and tea for me, wore a mask and gloves and her place only allows for 1 client at a time which is the reason I ventured out and got my hair done. Felt very safe and taken care of the whole time. And the hair came out SO CUTE, Ive gotten nothing but compliments. Will definitely be going back if she will have me for more color experiments and cute cuts!

Che Llo This place had me waiting 30 mins and counting for a haircut. And yes, it was not full nor busy. There was a lady busy , but the other two barbers were free handed and when I asked for a cut they said "give me a few mins". So, I did,but both of them were just patiently on their phone laughing. Therefore, I just left.

Tashona I appreciate that Maria was able to get me in right away. However, the service was not acceptable. The stylist braiding was entirely too tight. This type of braiding is damaging to the hair. Despite wincing in pain, she continued to braid too tight. On top of that, I paid $40 more than I normally pay for the same style. Two days later, I am taking it down. My scalp is not only sore, but irritated and bumps are all over the hairline. Then to top it off she sealed the crochet braids with nail glue. This was a terrible experience.

Rhonda J I went to Marias about three weeks ago and I love my braids. My head wasnt sore from the braiding either . She and the other staff members were courteous, professional and the shop was clean. I would definitely recommend this place!

Brian Cox Ink is a one in a million. Kind, courteous, listens to detail, easy to talk to, and great conversational with him. This barbershop is clean and very professional. He and his staff cater to your every need. This is a walk-in place, but well worth the wait. Five stars isnt enough for this young entrepreneur, and I highly recommend you give him a try; youll walk out feeling like a million bucks. Keep up the awesome work!!

marissa wadlington This was by far the best experience and transformation ever which I’m not surprised by. Once I looked and did my research I knew this spot was the best choice. Traveling and working in different states you get different results, but I knew this was the right choice. Me and my guy are travelers for the union and he was in need a of a great barber! Ink has the hands of god when it comes to cutting hair and an eye of an eagle. Whenever you’re in Waukegan and need a barber you better not hesitate to come here !
