5 /5 Sandpit Sales: They have a full selection of free weights and weight machines and plenty of space for everybody. They also have nice clean locker rooms with a sauna and a heated pool. Membership prices are fairly reasonable And the staff is friendly.

METTA SACDYPHOUD: Taking the classes makes me feel very confident about using kettlebells. Jason is very knowledgeable and gives great instructions. I highly recommend his classes for the knowledge you gain and for the effective full-body workout that doesn’t feel overwhelming to your nervous system.

Carrie Zaragoza: Staff is professional and very nice. But I the tanning bed rooms they went from a stool w/ holes to now a metal chair w/ holes. The chair is slanted slightly and everything you set on it slides off the back. It is cold here and understandably so(gym and gets hot) but a cold metal chair(NOT sure if somebody but their naked butt on it) so now I have to scrub this down to, bad enough I have to scrub down tanning beds every time I go(times you can see scum/film) and needs to scrubbed down 2x.

YMCA of Belvidere - Belvidere

B Wanland: Great hometown place and feel. I just wish they had more funding and donations to really bring this place up to speed. This place has history and use to be the spot to be with the different kinds of classes and sports and you name it. But in its defense the building was built in 1967. She just needs some funds and some elbow grease and this could be the spot to be once again.

Maximum Performance Training Belvidere - Belvidere

Sylvia Alamilla: I’ve tried a few gyms in town, and this one is by far the best! The group classes are super fun and a great workout. The instructor is really nice and knows their stuff, always making sure we’re using the right form to avoid injuries. They teach us different ways to use our own body weight, plus weights and bands, to tone every part of our body. Plus, they have an app that helps us track our progress through the sessions, which is super motivating. It’s been such a great experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and effective way to get in shape!

Kevin Thomas: Ive been training with Boone County Jiu-Jitsu since October and absolutely love the space. The owners/coaches are a great group of people. I would encourage anybody in the Belvidere and surrounding area to go check them out. Jiu-Jitsu is something you can go do yourself, take a friend or take the whole family and enjoy it together. Youre guaranteed to meet some great people and have fun.

After leaving the area and trying to cancel my membership was a disaster, you can’t just call and cancel your membership you have to send in a cancellation form. I have mailed 2 cancellations forms and still being charged for a membership I tried to cancel over 18 months ago.

Westwood Fitness & Sports Center - Sterling

Dr Randall Heskett: This place has the best staff, incredible People working out there, and state of the art equipment. They have many teaching rooms, A room with excellent sports performance equipment, a fantastic cardio section, an incredibly diverse series of weight machines, and excellent free weights. The new powerlifting room will be beyond excellent. Every time I come to Sterling I go here. It is nice to have such excellent leader ship there at everyone’s service. This gym is the bomb.
