1 /5 Kristine Huynh: I bought a necklace from Mejuri, and after just two weeks of wearing it, a large portion of the gold plating had faded and turned white. There were even black marks — not random spots, but caused by friction between the two interlocking rings in the design.
When I went to the store, the staff refused to help and kept repeating that vermeil naturally fades over time. Two weeks is “over time”? If that’s the case, why wouldn’t I just buy something cheap from a random street stall?
What made things worse is that instead of solving the issue on the spot, they told us to contact online customer service, take photos, write a description, submit a request, and wait for approval — only then could we return to the store for a refund. We were right there, showing them the damage in person, and still had to go through this time-consuming process.
After nearly an hour in the store, we finally got a credit refund. It was a complete waste of time and energy, and the whole experience was frustrating and disappointing.
If the fact that it’s vermeil is used to justify fading in just two weeks, then I seriously wouldn’t recommend buying it. It’s not worth the hassle.
