Before I even picked up my car they made sure everything was working perfectly before letting me take it. The waiting room is nice and clean. The receptionist (Andrea) was so sweet and patience with me and my nana calling everyday lol. She was full of light and I would truly recommend this place. The owner himself was amazing and you can tell they care about your vehicle and wants to make sure their work is perfect. BY FAR THE BEST AUTO SHOP I BEEN TO OUT HERE!

I appreciated the customer service from the team that helped me including the front desk gentleman.

Christa Deterding Great, caring staff. My car was totaled by a family member at the house and I was upset about it. They were so nice and compassionate when I came to get my stuff out of it. They even offered to help me if I needed it because I couldnt get the stuff out before it was towed because I had broke my knee cap the day before my car was totaled. I also had a electric scooter platform off the back of it I couldnt get in my mothers car that day so I had to leave it. The day the wrecking company came to pick my car up Crash Champions was awesome and pulled it off for me and held it there until the next week until I was able to pick it up. Though they werent able to fix my car I would still highly recommend them!

Layne Barbee I am a returning client and have always enjoyed my experience, service and price from Norris Tire. The ladies at the front desk were excellent and helpful. The price I was quoted was less than what I had to pay, not sure why. My only suggestion to make the experience better is the tires/rims should be washed or wiped off before returning the clients car. Mine were terribly dirty with the tire sealer all over the tires and rims.

Christian Visit 1: I called and told them I have a 1957 Bel Air with a power glide and that I would like them to take a look. Lady at the front desk told me to bring it by. I called 4 hours later to ask about how it’s going. I was told that they couldn’t get to my car for the day. Aggravating, but I understand. I don’t like leaving my car outside in the rain across town but it happens. I just wish they didn’t tell me they were free to see me and then tell me that they can’t make it in. However, things happen and I wanted to be reasonable. Visit 2: My transmission is no longer operable and it’s not their fault at all. I called and asked if I can tow it and the lady said no problem. Same issue. 4 hours later I am back and paying for another tow to take my car home. They said that the transmission is too old, they don’t want to work on it and my vehicle still has not been brought inside. I’m out $130 in towing fees and my car hasn’t seen the inside of the shop. Both trips could have been avoided if they just communicated better. You could have told me EVERYTHING over the phone. My time and money have been wasted. Please save yours and avoid this spot. They did however offer for me to remove my transmission send it out or replace with another oem powerglide for $1700 not including the cost of repair or replacement, just the removal and reinstall. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

John Barclay Had a simple fix, but great experience. My diagnostic thingy said I needed a new transmission sensor which I replaced. Didnt help so took it here. They diagnosed it correctly as a cable issue and replaced it very cheaply. They also discouraged a transmission flush since it had been 180,000 miles since the last one. So 5 stars for what many lack: ability to diagnose and ability to limit scope of work.

I was quoted 6-10k through my insurance and other repair shops throughout the CU area, many not accepting credit card as a form of payment. Not only do they accept major credit cards with little to know percentage fee, they also charged a little over a third of what I was being quoted prior to. Even with a mishap in pieces and inflation, Charlie stayed true to his quote and diligently worked to seamlessly repair my vehicle. I am very pleased with the results and highly recommend these guys, they were extremely personable and professional. & I truly appreciate their services.

I called them up and the staff was friendly, suggested I come right in for a tune-up. They were able to get new spark plugs and ignition coils installed, and I was back on the road within 6 hours. Their price was reasonable for the combination of speed and quality I was looking for and my original mechanic for my van had told me the same thing about it also needing a new gasket for this work on this van. I would definitely recommend this shop and appreciate their employees who went beyond to help me get going, even taking a late lunch to finish putting my auto back together faster.

Ray Rueve The guy working front desk is awesome and easy to work with and respectful. However their mechanics don’t work more often than not. Out of town and I “attempted” to have my truck worked on but the mechanic either called in for the day or left early. My truck was on a lift for an hour and a half before he even attempted to work on it, and then decided he didn’t have enough time. The mechanic sent the man working the front desk to tell me the bad news and wouldn’t tell me himself, but that was probably because he wanted to leave an hour or 2 early even though I’d already been there almost two hours. The mechanic handed me back my keys and I went on my way, but he didn’t leave the special socket in my truck for the locking lugnuts and also forgot to tighten down the lug nuts (I could literally spin them with my fingers) on the affected wheel before giving back my keys. I was lucky I found it shortly after getting it back and had to buy a socket and breaker bar from advanced auto to tighten them up again. Keep in mind I’m out of town and had to risk driving back home with a less than safe vehicle and they found a way to make it worse. Got it home and fixed it in an hour in my driveway between tearing it apart fixing it and putting it back together. And I’m not even a “mechanic.” Like I said, front desk is awesome (5 star) but the people working on your car are not.(0 star if I could)

15.Sullivan-Parkhill Automotive Service

Address: 440 Anthony Dr, Champaign, IL 61822

Reviewed by the users (40):

Jesse Rednour I had an unpleasant experience with this service department. I do not like leaving negative reviews, but feel compelled to do so if I think it will save someone else from having their time or money wasted like mine was. I was having an electrical issue with my car and decided to have it towed in to Sullivan Parkhill in Champaign for repair. I spoke with Charles "Chuck" Norris, who claimed to be the service manager. I explained what the car was doing, that it had a brand new battery, and that I believed the issue to be the body control module that got wet. I also explained a simple procedure on how to start the car as it would only intermittently start. He said they would take a look at it and get back to me. A couple days later I get a service writeup. One of the line items was "Battery - $769.81". I assumed that was a general description for fixing the electrical issue in its entirety. I called to get clarification and this is where it all went downhill. That charge was in fact just the cost to replace my brand new battery. A battery for my car is $140 at most parts stores and they will install it for free. I then proceeded to offer several ideas to Charles on how I could prove the battery was fine or workarounds to continue diagnosis, but he was having none of it. He kept saying they could not do any additional diagnosis until I agreed to the charge. He claimed they did three different tests on the battery, all showing it was completely shot. I later got the test results showing values of 6% life, 0 amp hours, and 0.6 amp hours. I asked if they put the new battery in and the car still did the same thing would I be charged for it. He resorted to saying they would not proceed without it. At this point I reluctantly gave up as now I was going to eat the towing charges both ways with nothing to show for it along with burning some of my vacation time. I rented a Uhaul trailer the next morning to avoid the more expensive tow charge. When I got there I popped the hood and checked the battery voltage with my multimeter. It was a little low, but not surprising given the testing they did and the fact they left it hooked up with a slow drain on the battery. The drain likely being caused by the aforementioned electrical issue. I unhooked the battery, waited a few minutes, hooked the battery back up, and the car fired right up. I then proceeded into the service department and informed Charles they were incompetent and I thought I had brought the car to professionals. Charles did not like that, and pointed at the door and told me I could leave. I told him sure, just as soon as you give the key back I dropped the car off with. At one point in the exchange Charles falsely accused me of jumpstarting the car, implying that was the only reason it started. I told him no, I did the above procedure, the same one mentioned when dropping the car off. I attempted to talk to the general manager or one of the Parkhills, but unfortunately they were not in yet. The only positive part of the experience was they were gracious enough not to charge me for the opportunity to waste my time and money. I read another one of their reviews with a customer stating a similar experience with a misdiagnosed bad battery. There seems to be a potential trend of misdiagnosed batteries, supported with questionable test data, resulting in a recommendation to replace the battery at extraordinary expense to the customer. Seriously, $769.81 for a battery! I have referred the matter to the Attorney General, if nothing else to establish a paper trail should others come forward.
