The best sign of confidence in his work is the quality of the diagnoses and that when giving them and quoting the repairs, he offers you options and advice. You dont always have to do all the work at once and not all the repairs are a priority. I recently took my car to a check-up because I was going to make a very long car trip, he took care of the general overhaul of my car and left it ready for my trip.
