1 /5 W. Jamison (Lasherz): Dr. Escobar has done a lot of damage to my family unfortunately. Rather than sue him as I probably should have, I decided to let my permanent tongue numbness slide because stuff happens and it did seem like a genuine mistake, but my step mother went to him for a jaw surgery and was rendered nearly deaf in one ear due to his improper instructions post-surgery. What do I make of this? Hes leaving a trail of victims in my limited window of his patients and their outcomes.
For my experience it was a nerve that was missed on an x-ray, he saw it clearly after he went back and the damage was already done. He actually responded pretty well and seemed to regret the damage he caused, but he recommended that I go to a nerve specialist he knew and refused to pay for this because "my health insurance will cover it" which I felt really described the true depth of his care well. His staff pushed my concerns aside for weeks as I waited for feeling to return after the surgery and they kept telling me it was normal while online resources told me I should worry the further it went on. I ended up calling a different oral surgeon group in Champaign, Theron C. Waisath and his staff, despite not being their patient, provided me more relief than anyone at Escobars office by just not gas-lighting me about what could be wrong.
4 almost 5 years later, still no feeling in my tongue, I couldnt leave reviews up to this point largely because I didnt want to put myself in that same emotional state of being helpless, butchered, and gas-lit by those who did it on top of it. I felt with my step moms story, which is worse than mine, it was time to speak up for other people to avoid the trauma too.
