Mark Barnes Dental - Wheaton (IL)

4 /5 Abby White: Dr. Barnes himself is amazing, huge fan. Both his receptionist and Nina as well, I believe her name is; they’re all wonderful. Very helpful, super flexible, all great with my daughter except for one hygienist there named Donna. Unfortunately I am not a fan, hence the 4/5 stars. She’s rude, not good with children and has made it a point to make condescending comments to me during both of my child’s teeth cleanings. My child especially isn’t a fan of the dentist, so it’s crucial who is taking care of my daughter is top notch and making it a positive experience for her. Unfortunately Donna is not it. Sadly I am going to transfer care elsewhere solely because of her. If they had a different hygienist I would use them but I believe she’s the only one. At least the only one myself and my daughter have had and each appointment I have been disappointed in the customer service from her and her alone. Aside from that, everyone else at that office is absolutely amazing. I live 40 minutes from this office and I drive there specifically for the rest of the staff because they are great, and when I arrive I almost regret the drive entirely after a cleaning. I keep trying to give it a chance which is why I am a repeated customer but unfortunately I am going to switch dentists. Do I recommend Dr. Barnes ? Absolutely, he’s wonderful. Just take caution if you prefer professionalism, and empathy during your cleanings. Their other services I have had no issue with at all.

1 /5 jfanelli91: Nobody ever answers the phone and I called at least 5 times on different days. Left voicemails and not one response! Terrible customer service.

1 /5 Rachel Sherman: Wish I could give them 0 stars. I drove over an HOUR to this place, because only 2 dentists were covered by my insurance. I triple checked I was covered before I made the drive. After I got the service done, the receptionist told me she couldn’t find my in my own insurance circle. So I left and called my insurance company and they said yes this dentist is covered for you. Now when I call to dispute this massive bill to the dentist office, she called me a liar and dishonest. I said she is incapable of connecting my insurance! I told her she should’ve told me BEFORE the service started that she couldn’t find me in the system and I wouldn’t have gotten the service done. She continued to say we trusted you. I would never drive an hour to a dentist for just a cleaning and lie about insurance coverage. Worst costumer service. Will be reporting to the BBB.

5 /5 Parker Lyme: I have been going to him for years and I have always gotten top notch service and advice about how to take care of my teeth, gums, etc. The staff is always very welcoming and fun to have around!
