Renee: This place will always be one of my favorites, from the gorgeous trails, access to the river, plenty of picnicking spots, and room for your furry friends to roam. There’s also some nice pavilions to have celebrations or cookouts, plenty of creatures and plants to teach kids about nature, and the easiest part is it’s still in the city! This place and Sylvan Island are my go-to spots when I want to take a walk with my friends, and I enjoy the size of the park and kindness of its many patrons. It’s hard to get out in nature these days but this place makes it accessible for most everyone

Augustanas Fryxell Geology Museum - Rock Island

Kjerstina House: Awesome geology museum! Couldnt find parking so I called and the girls said they either park on the street or across the street at the park with tennis courts. The ladies were super friendly and knowledgeable. They had activities for younger kids and older kids while exploring the museum. Its a small place but just packed with awesome things to see. We will be back.

Schwiebert Riverfront Park - Rock Island

I have been to this park many times with my son when he was a young child to play and enjoy the water features. This weekend I was able to enjoy many talented artists share their skills doing sidewalk art and listening to live music. Thank you Rock Island for providing riverfront family friendly activities!
