1 /5 Libby Plescia: UPDATE: To respond to Dr. Danis message below. This is absolutely false information. Delta Dental never sent anything out. I have spoken at length with Delta Dental. It was not their responsibility, as this was a change that your company chose to make. Further, to assert that you sent e-mails out to your patients regarding this change is categorically false. Neither my husband nor myself ever received any e-mail, letter, or communication from Sunflower Dental regarding this change. I have never deleted an e-mail in my life, and there is no e-mail from Sunflower Dental regarding any plan changes. Further, you could have even told us in person, as my husband was in person at your office when he made my appointment just a couple of weeks ago. If a mistake was made in notifying your customers, thats one thing. Most can accept an honest mistake and move on. But, to now falsely assert that you did, in fact, notify us is wrong, unscrupulous, and speaks to your character and integrity of your business.
My family has been going to Sunflower Dental for years. That changes today. I have never in my life paid nearly $100 for a basic dental cleaning, and I have never paid anything out of pocket at Sunflower Dental. That is, until my last appointment. Only AFTER my cleaning was completed was I informed that Sunflower Dental had decided to switch from being a Delta Dental PPO provider to a Delta Dental Premier provider. They went from being in-network to out-of-network and failed to tell us entirely. To add insult to injury, they then put the onus on the insurance company, explaining that our insurance company should have notified us. However, when speaking with the insurance company, I was very clearly informed that it is fully the choice of the provider how they negotiate their contract with Delta Dental, and it was their choice to switch from PPO to Premier providers. Noting in my plan changed and there was, therefore, nothing for Delta Dental to update me with. Delta Dental expressed that they would hope a dental office would inform their clients when the provider chooses to make a change that affects their clients out-of-pocket, but, of course, Sunflower Dental did not. I find this to be highly unscrupulous, and I have never experienced anything like this at any dental or medical office.
