3 /5 Uriel Rios: I came in to have the starter replaced on my 2013 Honda Civic. After calling around, I found that $240 for labor was a fair price, and that’s what I was quoted here. I made it clear to the older gentleman at the counter that I had already purchased the starter and only needed it installed. I even left the part on the front passenger seat.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t communicated to management and I was charged $495 for both parts and labor. When I brought this up with the woman at the front desk, she said she hadn’t been informed of the prior arrangement. As a result, I had to return my original starter—losing out on the lifetime warranty in the process. While the shops part came with a 2-year warranty, it’s still not the same.
The labor itself seems solid so far, which is why I’m giving 3 stars. But the lack of communication, no apology, and no offer to make things right left a bad impression, especially as a first-time customer. A disappointing experience overall.
