Marcie Dunn This school district doesnt even deserve a one star!! Poor poor judgement on there part!! They had school today 01/19/2024, with snow serveral inches of snow on the ground and below freezing wind chill temperatures still had children walking to school but thats okay. Roads covered with snow and ice. All they care about is the almighty dollar from the state. Decatur public schools are horrible!! We need a new superintendent!!

Brittany Nicole The worst. They teach nothing and they only want your child at school because they view your child as somebody’s paycheck, period. I’ve got one in grade school at Maroa-Forsyth who is doing exceptionally well, high honor roll and my child who attends a middle school within DPS61 is on the same level academically as my youngest. Because DPS61 does not care about your child’s education , nor their future. They also will NEVER address bullying, so don’t even waste any time going to them about it. Just go ahead and hire an attorney for that one. Also, the “higher ups” love to speak to parents in the most condescending tone, like you don’t know what’s in your own child’s best interest. They will act like they know better than you regardless of what concern you go to them with. Interesting group of people!
