Arelys Rosado Where to start, right? I am so glad I decided to make the trip from Rockford because it was definitely worth it! The owners of this amazing salon had their hearts poured into the welcoming big open area, and I think the layout works amazing. I was booked with Heaven, and I am so blessed to have her working on my hair. I wanted to make a subtle but noticeable change for the holidays, and she achieved exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended!

Maya Navarro Just spent about $235 at Arsova Salon for a full balayage and cut, and let me tell you—it was worth every penny. The salons vibe is chic yet welcoming, nestled right in River North. My stylist, Elyssa, took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and the results were flawless—no brassiness, just a smooth, blended look that suits me perfectly. They even offered me a glass of wine upon arrival, which was a nice touch. Scheduling was a breeze, and I was in and out in just over two hours, which is perfect for my busy schedule. Definitely my new go-to spot for hair in the city.

Joan Drecoll Stacy always does a great job with my cut and color. She really listens and delivers. She figures out exactly what’s needed for what I’m trying to describe. I’ve never been happier with a stylist. Her expertise surpasses anyone I’ve ever had. The cut and color hold up for as long as needed. The outgrowth blends in so well that it’s barely noticeable. It’s always a pleasure to relax in her capable hands. Theo is also a great manager- his staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s great to have found this salon.

Mohammed Taufeeq Anwar Ranas Hes & She Salon is great for mens haircuts. The staff is friendly and really good at their job. My barber listened to what I wanted and gave me an awesome cut. The salon is clean and comfortable. I felt well taken care of from start to finish. If you want a good haircut and nice service, try this place. Youll leave looking and feeling great!

John Kapps Don’t get me wrong. Colby is very friendly, but she absolutely butchered my hair with the God-damned texturizing shears. And when another stylist agreed to give me a crew cut instead, they still charged me nearly $70, and I still had to shape it with my own clippers and trimmers myself.

Dina Habibovic I’ve really debated leaving a review. But after a month & seeing what’s happened to my hair I figured better than not. I will say the salon itself is beautiful. Very pretty on the inside. And the stylist herself was nice. However- if a stylist truly is not comfortable doing a service- have them say so. Not just sell you on it. I went in very upfront I wanted to keep my natural root and as much of my natural dark color as possible with possibly a partial or full balayage. And yet I was still over highlighted to the point where there is a huge chunk of blonde hair on one side of my head & not the other. Although the stylist did offer a fix- I had to leave wet hair & come back 2 days later, this was only for my roots to be three different colors post 2nd try (see photos) and honestly not even blended. I had to go seek a color correction elsewhere after messaging the stylist & her reply being “it’ll wash out”. I wish she maybe would have asked for help from someone if she did not know what to do to fix the over lightening. The salon was full of other stylists.

Dana Yates Dropped about $95 for a womens cut and blowout at Solo Salon - Elizabeth. The salon has a sleek, modern vibe, and the staff were welcoming. My stylist, Anna, was attentive and gave me a cut that suited my face shape. However, even with an appointment, I waited nearly 20 minutes. The cut was solid, but not exactly what I envisioned. For the price, I expected a bit more attention to detail. Its a convenient spot in the West Loop, and I might give it another shot.

Vie Soler I got a cut and mask - beautiful results from a very kind and thorough stylist (I believe by the name Sofia)! made me feel truly welcome and I definitely got the results I wanted. I have thick asian hair and unfortunately, not many stylists truly know how to handle it but she definitely did. Highly recommend :)

Esther Almodovar Jad did a great job!!! I’m going to a wedding tonight and I wanted a different look, no t my day to day hairstyle. He did some beautiful waves..! I really love it! Also the salon is so nice and they are amazingly nice. Definitely 100% recommended. Next time in Chicago I know exactly where to do my hair.

Chicago girl Reviews I decided to try Lira Guzzle Salon since my original hairstylist was overbooked, and I wanted to be ready for my yearly Christmas meeting in the city. I just wanted a balayage touch-up, and while the lady there was very nice and friendly, she unfortunately ruined my hair. Even my regular hairstylist questioned why I went there. Additionally, while I was on the phone speaking to a cousin, a staff member approached me and told me not to speak Spanish, which was shocking and inappropriate. Although she later apologized, it was not the right way to address a client. On a positive note, everyone, including the receptionist, was very friendly, and the aesthetic of the salon was great. However, it was upsetting that my hair was ruined.

Serena Rizk I was visiting for my engagement photos & decided I wanted to get my hair done. Janessa is insanely talented and even went out of her way to add pearls into my hair; it was the PERFECT touch. Janessa was so fun to be around & somehow my curls stayed the way I wanted them to ALL DAY.

Isobel Patton I had a wonderful experience for bridal hair and makeup with my stylist Kelsey! She travelled to Port Townsend, WA and did makeup for me and my bridesmaids, and hair for me and my MOH. Kelsey kept the vibes positive, you could tell she was very experienced. She knew just how to work with people who arent everyday makeup wearers. And best of all, everyone looked beautiful for the whole day and photos! I had a great experience with Blush and Braids overall, they were great communicators and worked within my budget. Michaela West I recently stopped in during a vacation and got my hair and makeup done for a night out. Booking was super quick and simple. Macy did my hair, and Daniela did my makeup. Both were very friendly, communicative, and very easy to work with! I came away with exactly what I was hoping for, and I felt so confident and beautiful all night. Halie Bowser I’ve been going to Salon Glow for 3-4 years now and I continue to be impressed. I’ve gone from having long extensions to a short bob and have felt satisfied and confident walking out of Salon Glow no matter what the style. Recently, I got a full blonde highlight by Tara and Maggie and they did a wonderful job! This was my first time working with Maggie and not only was she kind and personable, she was very gentle with my hair and seems extremely knowledgeable. I would 100% let her do my hair again! Tara, as always, was honest with me about what I can expect which I truly appreciate. If a stylist really cares about you/your hair, they will be honest with you and not just say “yes” to every request. I trust that Tara will always guide me in the right direction. Very thankful for that! As long as I’m in Chicago, I’ll continue to get my hair done at Salon Glow. Thank you!

Ellen Fideli The best salon I have ever been too! I’m from Boston and a have been getting my hair colored since 8th grade. After trying numerous studios this has been by far the best color I’ve gotten! Originally dirty blonde Holly blended my natural hair in with highlighted pieces. The culture here is absolutely amazing along with their transparency on pricing and tips. Will definitely be back again!

Ben Campos Update 4/16 - The owner Dawn reached out to her and offered to make it right. Dawn did a great job fixing it, and she loves her new haircut! Leaving review on behalf of my fiancee: I had an appointment with Iris for a color and cut. It felt like the whole time she was rushing and not very attentive. At the end of the appointment, I pointed out that the haircut was uneven. She quickly cut the one side in one sweep, which didn’t fix it.

Elena Reyes ​I swung by Fringe in Wicker Park for a much-needed hair refresh and got a womens cut with a blowout—set me back around $70 before tip. The stylist, Lucy, was super attentive and took the time to understand exactly what I was going for. The salon has a chill, artsy vibe that fits right in with the neighborhood, and the staff made me feel right at home. Only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because my appointment started about 15 minutes late, which threw off my schedule a bit. But overall, the quality of service and the end result were worth it. If youre in the area and looking for a salon that knows how to treat you right, this is the spot.

Regina Dyhouse I moved to this neighborhood a little over a year ago, and havent had a regular stylist since moving. I went to Fringe, and had Trillium give me a haircut. She took a lot of time during the consultation so she could be sure to give me what I wanted, and I have to say, I LOVE my new hair. Ive gotten so many compliments!!! The space is also incredibly clean and welcoming and I cant wait to go back for my next appointment! Highly recommend this salon!

Yasha Raheel I go here legit all the time. They do amazing work when it comes to waxing, threading, hair, makeup, etc. I always get my hair colored from here by Maria, she does a fabulous job every single time. I DONT trust anyone else with my hair except her since she always makes sure to keep it healthy and looking it’s best.

Rashada House-Moore I have been a customer of John S Beauty Salon for almost 5 years and have always received top notch service. John and CiCi are amazing! They are extremely knowledgeable about thick natural hair. I have left each visit feeling and looking absolutely beautiful! I have also received many compliments on my hair! The shop is always quiet, peaceful, and serene. You wont be disappointed being serviced at this salon.

Gwendolyn Kendricks I booked with Deseiree (zootiee2x ) 1rst appointment at the time of the appointment i get a message saying im coming off the train. She talked over my head the whole time. She kept stepping out to talk 15 mins at a time while i was in her chair. Second time i showed up for her not to even show up. My appointment was just pushed to the side I called and text this woman all morning for her to tell me to come to the shop hours later. I show up for the appointment which i shouldn’t have for her to talk on the phone over my head and turn my parts in my head into circle parts when they are squared off. I let her know that i needed them corrected she made me wait and then told me there’s nothing wrong with my parts. Moving right along i booked for February with another loctician in Issues. I booked for the wrong month so she was going to just fit me in today. When she found out i was the one that was complaining about my parts she said she had to check with desiree because she most likely wouldn’t be cool with it. I called and asked her what was the decision. She told me she’s sorry she can’t do my hair because Desiree isn’t cool with it. So in other words if you leave me as a client I’m going to make sure no one does your hair. When i tell you this woman is past unprofessional she told me waiting for her to show up is something you have to do when having locs. She has a lot to learn because if a person has a appointment a good loctician would have made sure she scheduled appointments far enough apart.or he’ll show up for your clients. So the other stylist apologized when the right thing to do would have been to do my hair. Not say sorry and return my deposit. Desiree told me that they both are the hottest locticians in south loop and they have both chosen not to do my hair. The other loctician is hot desiree is simply a wannna be. The part that kills me is that i was never going to let Desiree touch my hair again. I haven’t booked with her in months. BASICALLY ISSUES HAS MORE ISSUES THAT TISSUE. Keep your money it’s a circus in there.

Jackie Gaither The one star is for the shampoo girl....my stylist was the worst! I have never been so disappointed. I legit look like i got a bald fade with an uneven bang. This is supposed to be a pixie cut. It looks HORRIBLE. I went to the owner, and it was a huge mistake. Please keep looking if you want a short do. Something tells me that her regular clients get better treatment. I paid over $200 and it was a total waste. I put on a wig as soon as I got home

Marisol Ocampo I can only say wonderful things about my stylist Liz. She did an amazing job on my color and cut. She even took time to educate me on what products to use and how to use them. Every time I leave the chair I leave looking my very best and feeling my very best. I will forever rave about her services.

Definitely found my new go-to spot in Logan Square!

Madison Bejemino The best experience! I had never had my hair colored red before and they did the best job! I’ll definitely be going back next time Im in Chicago. All the staff was so kind and answered all of my questions! My stylist Carla was amazing. Love it here; Highly recommend!

Emma Gamero I really wanted to like this salon but I was let down. Firstly, this salon MAJORLY LACKS DIVERSITY. All the faces here are white so that was my first mistake. I’m a Latina girl and I have course, thick, wavy hair and I wanted a flat iron to leave my hair looking smooth and shiny but what I was left with was dull, half wavey, and frizzy hair! I had asked for a touch up and nothing was changed. I just really think these white women who deal with straight thin hair everyday don’t know how to style any other hair type, it’s sad. The people here were nice and the place smelled/looked clean but the service was inexperienced and expensive. I’m sorry I will not be coming here again.

Brighid Martensen They get two stars for trying. And in their defence: I froze up and didnt say anything and simply left after paying to immediately book a different studio. The other haircuts I saw walking out looked incredible: but short hair is not their forte. They were very nice, but punk rockers be warned. But they left me covered in bleach (those white spots on my face? Bleach), pulled on my eyebrow piercing twice to the point it bled, and I walked out with hair that looked like this. Uneven, poorly layered, mushroom hair. Ended up getting a buzz cut because it was not fixable.

Carolina Reyes I’ve gone to Sam two times now, and every single time he’s been incredibly patient—really taking the time to listen to what I want and explaining whether it’s possible to achieve without compromising the health of my hair. I truly appreciate how honest and knowledgeable he is; he doesn’t just do what’s trendy or what I ask for blindly—he gives professional guidance and makes sure the end result works for me and my hair type. On top of that, he’s meticulous with his work. Both times I’ve walked out feeling amazing, with a cut and style that looked even better than I imagined. He’s also super easy to talk to and makes the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend Sam if you’re looking for a stylist who really knows his craft and cares about his clients.

Mackenzie Sharpe HORRIBLE!!!!! My appointment was at 3pm. I didn’t see a chair until 6pm. My stylist was SHERRY. It took until 10pm for a simple silk press to be done and after my blow-dry I specifically states that I did not want a trim because I dont trust stylists, and I would trim and style my own hair at home with help. Sherry went behind my back and chopped off 3 inches of growth under the notion that my hair was dry/brittle/recently out of locs. I understood this and still would have rather gotten a trim at home because I wear my hair naturally in an afro and only plan to get a press once a year. She cut my hair anyway, was on the phone, and the silk-press itself was poofy, unfinished, and uneven. Unprofessional when confronted. Worst salon experience of my life. Don’t go. Pics below.
