They made me feel safe and heard and they even did some extensive work the same day they met me! Wendy helped me afford the work and was extremely patient with me. Awesome place.

Arielle Johnston My daughter has a cavity and her other dentist couldnt get her in until September, which was a 6 month wait. I decided to take her to True Smiles to have it assessed and get her cleaning done. They were able to get her in two days later. They were amazing! She is 4 years old was a little nervous to go. The hygienist was amazing with her, put her at ease and made it fun. They were very thorough and a pleasure to work with. We will definitely be back!

Nancy Oltmanns Exceptional Denistry squeezed me in at the last minute when I had an infection. I truly appreciated this. I didnt want to spend the weekend not knowing what was going on with this tooth. As always, they were gentle, explained everything, and so kind. I have found that the doctors, techs, and receptionists - treat you like friends- not just a patient. Exceptional Dentistry is a cheery and comforting place for dental work!

tina browning went to sterling Aspen for a tooth that needed extracted. The dentist said yes to the extraction but that I had to have periodontal cleaning first and be on amoxicillian for 10 days. I said ok and left thinking the pain would subside with the amoxicill, it did not. 5th day came and I was hurting extremely bad now and called to see if I can get some pain meds, thay said no, so I said I need this tooth extracted, thay said ur insurance this your insurance that. I said excuse me but, After not seeing eye to eye with the billing manager, I said why am I talking to u she said I am thee manager, and I said I want to no why I hav to wait days to get a tooth out. She said be here by 2pm. Longer story short.. I had the worst extraction experience in my life, the doctor took his anger out on my mouth. He rubbed the inside of my mouth with his naked finger to hurry the numbing jell then stabbed me with that numbing needle so rough I slammed my fist and then yanked my tooth out which practically took me out of the chair. Come to find out I didnt hav an infection I had a exposed nerve. Wow!!!!! Scary!!!!!

Megan McCullough This was my first time coming to Sauk Valley Dental. We just transferred our care here. I brought both my kids in (4 and 2 years old). All the staff were so friendly and accommodating for them. They made it a fun experience for them while being able to do an entire cleaning! The doctor was very nice and personable as well. I am glad we are going to start coming here. I would highly recommend!

ThanhLoan Tran I ended up getting sick and blacking out. The dentist and hygienists were great. They made me feel welcomed and showed genuine concern as they helped me though my ordeal. Marissa Mickley I am completely disgusted with this hospital the name change literally does you guys know justice!!!! I already had a Deal with unprofessionalism when my dad was just in the hospital about two months ago and I’ve already called and reported that!!!! It is 10:09 PM 4-8-2025 First and foremost, working in your guys’s profession, those nurses need to wake up. Call to know what their job really is.!!!! My four-year-old is in your emergency room with my mother and two other children right now I should Have my mother and the two other kids telling me that the nurse was gagging my daughter by shoving the thermometer down my four-year-old’s throat and annoyed because my daughter was crying!!!!! You know it’s sad that I can’t even come to the closest hospital to get my family help!!!! Because all the staff that I run into in the emergency area, clearly don’t know how to do their job correctly. Don’t know what hospitality means and clearly don’t understand that nurses are supposed to make us feel safe and take care of us. Yeah, the job is not always fun But no patient should feel like a burden in that hospital!!!! I will be calling and reporting this tomorrow to somebody higher since the staff that I talk to was so rude and Maddie that I spoke to in the emergency area since she refused to send me to registration before my mother got there and I had to go getting past other phone calls in order for somebody finally to send me to the registration and instead of telling me and I don’t know answer… The treatment that my daughter received before the second nurse went in the room was definitely unacceptable. When my mother slapped the nurse’s hand from my daughter‘s face. I should’ve had my mother call the police.!!!

Lisa Pallardy While it is small, it was the only OSF hospital in the state where we were able to find an available bed for my very ill father. The staff was phenomenal: friendly, patient, and caring. They were able to stabilize my father, determine the extent of his illness, determine where he needed to be for a specific heart procedure, and arrange helicopter transport which saved his life. We cant thank them enough for their kindness and care.

Melissa 0-10 recommend. Waiting in an ER for 4hrs to be seen is beyond measure of acceptable. Not to mention the length of time spent waiting for care after getting taken to the room, making the visit length 8-9hrs and then being told well we can’t say exactly what’s wrong but you don’t have this, so options are to stay and be admitted to the ER because we have no rooms and be monitored or go home and come back if your not better. Great advice and options… continued disappointment even now as OSF

Kent Hohlen I was there to have my left side gum graft done. A couple weeks before my appointment u cracked the root of a tooth. They scheduled extra time to evaluate the tooth and then recommended extracting the tooth. They did the graft and extraction in one appointment. Excellent people to work with.

Jordan Williams Dr King and his entire staff were an absolute dream, well. As much of a dream as a root canal can be! I have severe dental anxiety and I truly feel like they did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable and pain free the entire time. From their communication leading up to the appointment, as well as during, I felt very comfortable with the entire process. I highly reccomend them if you are in need!

nicole gedraitis Just wanted to say what a positive experience we had with Dr King and his staff. After my 9 year old knocked out her tooth and needed a root canal, the Doctor was patient and empathetic with her. There are very few endodontists that will take on a pediatric cases and Dr.King and his staff helped my daughter a lot. Thank you!

Vincent Hennings Good people, helpful staff. Expect multiple bills with seemingly random amounts. I was sent a bill for one amount and paid it in full. 2 months later I received an additional bill for the same visit. The excuse I was given was that insurance came back denying some claims after I had made the initial payment. I was not given any information about any additional outstanding claims that might incur additional bills beyond the second. They are willing to work with being able to make payments for these new charges, but seems unprofessional to not gather a final bill once all claims were cleared.

Jen Peterson Went in to have my teeth cleaned. The cleaning went well, 4 cavities were found. Went to two different appointments to have fillings. After the first visit I had pain, told them about the pain at second visit. Bite also seemed off after second visit, still having pain pain had gotten worse. Dentist was on vacation the referred me to affiliate in sterling. Went to sterling they tried to adjust the bite during this visit without numbing pain was unbelievable, they found air pocket in one of the new fillings. Went back to Dixon to have air pocket fixed. Tooth was repaired still having large amounts of pain. Every few weeks the pain would increase. I called the office they told me to take even more Advil and Tylenol gave me a referral to a root canal dentist, not in network. Called one in net work explained what was happening they said they couldnt help it was a jaw issue. In short my Jaw was dislocated during procedures. I found a new dentist asked all my x-rays be sent over, they did not send all of them only for that one tooth . The new dentist found a cavity under the new filling meaning it had not been done properly. Also is saying the tooth that had been redone because of air bubble needs replace also due to it was done poorly and is washing out. But it had not even been 6 months cant be washing out. Also have had crazy out of pocket almost 1000.00 to cover devices to correct jaw issue caused by appointments last fall. The fix for the tooth is almost 400.00. It is Jun now and I have had pain since last September and now need to have expensive work done to correct what was ruined.

Kordell Brandenburg I went in last week for a cleaning, and when I walked out I was shocked to see that ALL the stains on my teeth where gone! I am not sure how long I have had them, but it seems like it’s been forever. Even before my last cleaning... but my hygienist, Monique, noticed them and said to me, “oh hold on Im going to get that for you...” and again, they are ALL gone!!!! I’ve never been more happy with how my teeth look, and they’re still just as spotless as when I left a week ago. Very impressed and pleased!

Amy Feldman DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE! They will dismiss you as a patient if you miss appointments even with proper cancellation time. I had serious medical crisis that caused me to cancel some appointments and not having children old enough to drive, and a husband who works out of town, the health crisis came first. Bo one ever called from the office to find out what the issues were. They continued to send correspondence, and after they opened in June once the COVID restrictions were lifted scheduled an appointment for my daughter. She got COVID tested and was placed on a 2 week quarantine. So she had to miss her appointment responsibly, or expose people unnecessarily. No word was ever said to us about dismissal. Until a dental emergency arose on the weekend. I called the dentist 3 or 4 times for guidance on how to handle my 13 year olds dental emergency. The dentist never called back. It wasnt until Monday morning when I called to have the dental emergency addresses. Appointment scheduled, only to get an phone call 20 minutes later telling us we were dismissed and basically deal with your own emergency! Are you kidding? You do not inform patients, you send reminders for cleanings, and protocol for re entering the clinic during COVID. Then when a 13 year old girl is in complete agony you inform them of dismissal. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PRACTICE. I DIDNT EVEN MENTION THE HORRIBLE JOB THEY DID FILLING A CAVITY THAT I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH.

Nick Argento ZERO STARS!! Horrible dental practice. Dr. Rastede has zero communication skills. He filled a cavity that subsequently infected the same evening. There was no reason this cavity should have ever gotten so bad/ deep because I had been a patient of his for 2 years prior this event and had been having regular screenings/ check-ups. A specialist I had to consult with later stated a cavity as deep as mine should have been caught and treated as long as I was being seen regularly by a dentist, which I was. Also, the specialist complimented me on my dental hygiene, so it is not like I neglect my teeth -- floss and brush regularly. Dr. Rastede referred me to an endodontist in the QC after my cavity failed (horribly painful btw) to have a root canal, which subsequently failed because this endodontist did not find a fourth canal. She did not find the fourth canal despite having an expensive magnifying lens at her disposal to find all the canals... this is even the stated reason Dr. Rastede sends patients to her (ironic!). Then the tooth root cracked on re-treatment, meaning it was no longer able to be saved. Next, I needed to have the tooth extracted and an implant was highly recommended because of the location of the tooth. All told, its been THOUSANDS (around $6,000) of dollars out of my own pocket despite being covered by MetLife dental insurance (this $$$ out of my own pocket was totally unnecessary had the cavity been caught on time). But the icing on the cake? When I left a message simply asking about the cavity after it had failed, I was told I was no longer a patient of their practice despite always being on time and paying all of my bills. I was kicked out simply for asking a question. This is totally unacceptable imo. Also, the dental hygienist I was regularly seen by at his office the year prior recommended I have a deep gum cleaning procedure where the gum flaps are cut opened, cleaned underneath, and resown. A periodontist (gum specialist) I consulted with about this procedure stated I absolutely DID NOT need this procedure, and that it would actually do much more harm than good in my case because some gum tissue is lost by the procedure itself and my gums were fine. Horrible dental practice. ZERO STARS (had to select 1 star to publish this review).

Dan Vinson I moved to this area not long ago and before I had found a dentist, I had a tooth split. I called Dr, Rastedes office and they made time for me to get this repaired. Dr. Rastedes an excellent dentist and his staff is very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend him.
