They have cutting edge technology, an extremely knowledgeable and caring staff, led by an experienced and practical dentist. By practical I mean that they take great care of you without trying to sell you something you dont need. They have cultivated a professional & caring culture and seem to truly love what they do. Annie Wilson Great experience! The staff up front was super nice, and my hygienist Stacy was awesome! I am a new patient, and I feel as though Stacy took the time needed to make me feel comfortable and make sure my oral hygiene is at its best. She was great at explaining different things to me, and why the exam they did (since I am a new patient) was so thorough. It took more time than usual, but it was definitely worth it! I am very particular about my teeth, and this was a great experience. Dr. Kimbrough was very kind, and I will be glad to go back for my return 6 mos cleaning. Also...one more thing...in case anyone is scared of germs; they go to great lengths to keep germs at bay...everything is cleaned and sanitized after every use. Great overall experience!! Highly recommend!!!

M Ahlfield Very positive first visit. Marissa did a wonderful job explaining everything she was doing and why. Recommendations made for future treatments and costs (over what insurance will cover) explained if we decide to go ahead. Staff all seemed very nice and competent and no long wait times. My only issue is I wish I would have been told they require certain X-rays to be done for a new patient; which insurance did not cover all of it. I understand why but not everyone would be able to afford the upfront out of pocket without some advance notice. Overall very pleased with practice; as long as they remain in network with insurance we will continue to go there and be confident in receiving good care.

Teresa Braswell Everyone here is wonderful! Twice, I’ve had an infected tooth that was causing severe pain and they got me in on the same day to check it out and get an antibiotic going. The first time, I wasn’t even a patient of theirs yet. The dentist I was seeing told me it would be weeks before I could get in. I called Dental Group of Carbondale and they got me in immediately. I’d highly recommend them.

beth fletcher HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. My elderly (87yo) mother went to them to check on a tooth. They extracted it and told her the bill was $180. She then received another bill for $29.00 almost two weeks later. When I went into the office and questioned why she got charged an additional amount after she was told the $180 (no insurance involved...she paid with a check) the "supervisor" got HATEFUL because I questioned it! If they were waiting on insurance that would have been understandable but this was a cash service for her. When I called Customer Service they blew it off stating she signed the responsibility form and that I should refer to that. She would have paid the amount at the time if it were different. I think they forgot to add a charge that day.....and that is on them! You cant tell a cash paying customer one amount for the day and then bill for an additional amount later....that is just wrong! Its not the money, it is the principle of the matter now. What keeps them from just repeatedly billing for more and more in the future?! DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES AT ALL! The facility is nasty, the staff is terrible and customer service does nothing. Doesnt even deserve one star!!

Leatha Barber Overall, service was poor, one tech training newly employed staff while working understaff. Waited over an hour for X-rays, hygienist was condescending instead of educating pt and overly explained how professional she was. The actual dentist did okay. Waited over an hour for receptionist staff to do consult with pricing, I finally walked toward the front to and was stopped by hygienist that directed me to the front so receptionist could go over pricing. I informed I had been waiting 45 min to hour for them to talk with me, 3 receptionist, 1 talking on landline phone, one doing something with her personal phone and one had a stunned look on her face. I asked why no one has come to talk with me about pricing and they replied they didn’t know I was waiting. So I stopped on the side desk for pricing and was told I could wait out in the lobby and talk through the front window. I explained to them I was a social worker and that is a violation of my HIPAA rights to talk openly about my information to a room full of people. Receptionist stated you can stay right here then. I went in for teeth cleaning and a crown for possibly 1 or 2 teeth, they adding in two partials totaling over $8000 with my insurance paying maybe $800.

Stephanie Hudson The gentleman that did my x-rays was very nice and talkative. The rooms were dirty and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting! I hope the workers use a different restroom if they are being hygienic at all. Concerning enough in a medical office and people who are touching inside your mouth! They add ridiculous charges to your bill (like $200 for a tooth brush) and get snippy when you ask them to remove it or tell you that you have to request it from the dentist who will tell you that you absolutely need it and pretends not to fully understand you. The billing is incorrect, they did not charge me the full amount they had estimated and I thought it was due to my request to remove the additional unnecessary charges (I did not take the toothbrush), but no, they instead sent me to collections for the unpaid amount. I never got a bill, email or text from them about any unpaid balance. They also did this to my 20 year old autistic son who was working on building his credit. Now he has a claim against him. Its theft for poor service is what it is.

Ebani Evans Dr Kaur is very compassionate and skilled. Hygienist is also thorough like Dr Kaur. Love that for patients. No waitlist for new patient and established patient appointments. If you need dental work, solely book with Dr. Kaur. 1 month update: #1 don’t piss off the front desk staff because they will screen your calls// I know this because I called multiple times one day from my number then when I called from google voice number someone answered and apologized when I brought this to her attention. (Calling me “babe” when I have a name- I also didn’t like how she liked to talk numbers before even confirming w insurance as if she just knew everything) #2 locum has my tooth sensitive to pressure and cold temperatures following a botch job filling 12/24 #3 I was completely paid up until today when they sent a bill with unknown charge (as I paid off every single procedure and work before and after each visit) I would call them but refer to number 1 #4 after infection complications and root canal I mentioned that i still felt like I had a cavity somewhere on the left side of my mouth and was looked at strange. I now know that I for sure have a cavity on the left side. #5 one dental assistant has bad hygiene when it came to me. She would wipe stuff on my bottom lip (I get it it’s big; but what the heck is the towel wrapped around my neck for?) uhh brother uhhh she would also cough/hack a lot through her face mask

Heather Flowers Niesel We’ve used several different dentist in this area over the year and Dogwood is by far the best. Everyone is just plain nice. The hygienists are informative in a way that truly helps you understand dental health.

_ Tripp I would give Dogwood Dental zero stars if I could.  Dogwood Dental is not a dependable dental provider due to frequent appointment cancelations.  Out of the six appointments I have scheduled with Dogwood Dental they cancel three of them.  Dogwood Dental erroneously canceled my first appointment without notifying me in advance.  I waited months for this appointment, arrived early and was told Dogwood Dental canceled my appointment.  After explaining I had waited months for this appointment and had to take time off work to be seen they did end up seeing me at a later time that day.  I thought I would give them another chance.  After that appointment I scheduled two separate appointments for a deep cleaning due to insurance purposes.  When calling to make sure Dogwood Dental did not cancel my appointments the dental clerk said there was an error because two appointments were scheduled.  I then had to explain this wasnt an error, not to cancel the appointments then worry Dogwood Dental would cancel the appointment anyway.  By some miracle I was able to be seen for these two appointments with no issue.  Then the first attempt at a follow-up appointment Dogwood Dental canceled the appointment one week prior to my appointment after I waited months for it.  I rescheduled again, waited months and this morning one hour prior to my appointment Dogwood Dental called me and canceled again. If you like to wait months for an appointment to have it canceled without your knowledge or short notice after waiting months after scheduling time of work then Dogwood Dental will be a great dental clinic for you.

Christina Skiles I highly recommend. Payment plans available. Happy smile equals happy life.. my granddaughters teeth are perfect. The workers are so kind. The building is very clean and open. They made sure she was happy with her new smile

Brittany Cook We just transferred from Fishbein Ortho in Pensacola FL. The staff made the transfer super easy! They were able to get us right in to assess him and figure out the next steps to take! Today they removed his braces that were placed in Florida and put a new set of top braces on!! Wonderful staff!! Would definitely recommend Smile Doctors to anyone needing a beautiful smile!!

Ma Bo When you expect care from a company that takes an oath to do just that for people and get the opposite, it makes you wonder. If you are late by any means or miss one appointment you will be called and scolded. Time is money, but people are human. I was shocked. I expected maybe a text explaining my absence as I had confirmed the time of the appointment when made 8 months ago and couldve used benefits anywhere else all year, I got a horrific phone call. If youre having a bad day, do not take it out on patients. We come all the time 10 to 15 mins early and then arent seen on time. If we arrive barely late we are dismissed and looked at as a notorious insult. Kara will make you feel small at the front desk as they are overbooked and or double book. They will put your appointment in and push you back for months making sure you go to another dentist. I will be filing with whatever board I need to in order to make sure this doesnt happen to someone else. People need to be seen and if something negatively happens, you shouldnt speak to someone like they are a child or that you are better than them. Empathize and give them options. I didnt feel any of that from Dr. Lieske and his staff consistently.

Sonya J Out of network. We kept getting charged quite a bit for basic cleanings. When I asked about it at the counter and explained that our insurance covers 2 cleanings each per year, the lady at the counter mocked me saying "nothing in life is free." She then informed me that theyre "not in network for anyone", so I will have to find a different dentist that allows my family to use the benefits weve already paid for through our insurance policy.

Amie Jo Mason I highly recommend! All the staff were so friendly and took amazing care of me. Theyre very upfront with pricing and letting you choose when to have procedures done. I have anxiety from past dental experience, and they went out of their way to make me comfortable and feel well cared for.

They got us in quickly, answered all our questions with care and patience, and even provided helpful information for pediatric dental offices in the area. Carrie Banovz Highly recommend! I walked in on a Saturday with an infected gum and a crown that popped off. Dental assistant Kelsie was very professional and helpful. Dr. Jallad was great! He reset my crown and gave me a referral for the gum. Everyone was very nice; I knew exactly what I was getting done and what I was being charged for. I am very happy that Weekend Dental is available in our area!

A Dixon Absolutely the worst. We came in for an emergency in the ER and after waiting 45 minutes in a vacant waiting room we were finally seen. Then we waited in an exam room for two hours only to be told that they could not provide the care that was needed because they did not have doctors for the issue. We were secretly told by a nurse that we might want to pack up and head to Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. We did so and after arriving at that hospital we were seen, the medical issue was resolved and we were on our way within a few hours. The sad part is that Heartland/Deaconess still sent us a bill for $12k for not doing a thing. Whereas Memorial Hospital of Carbondale sent us a bill for only $3k and the medical emergency was resolved. This hospital is definitely not the hospital it use to be 18 years ago. Very sad.

scott miller Find it very strange that visitors must enter and exit thru ER to visit regular patients. Happened yesterday afternoon and again today. Dont feel it is proper practice to walk through a highly infectious area to visit patients . Great potential for continual exposure to other illnesses?

Tabatha Davis Billing Dept sucks badly!! I would advise everyone who walks into a Deaconess facility, to review every bill that you receive because they cannot get anything correct. They provide you a phone number to contact to assist you with any billing issues but then you are told they can take your payment but cannot fix the billing errors. What kind of billing department cannot assist you when the bill is incorrect. Ridiculous!!! I was excited to know that Deaconess was taking over the Heartland Hospital, but after 9 months of still trying to get a bill corrected and still fighting to get someone to help me. They are not any better in customer service than Heartland was. Shame on these hospitals who charge you such extraordinary prices but wont help you correct their errors, yet they sure are still willing to take my money or threaten you with collections.

Missy The staff is great!! Dr. Klein has even went out of his way to fix a broken wire on a Sunday afternoon!! Very impressed by this office! The hours are strange but the staff works with your schedule.

Rachel Knapp Klein orthodontics was absolutely amazing. As an adult patient I was very self conscious about getting braces, but everything was mapped out and my treatment time seem to fly by. I am so happy with my results and will definitely recommend Klein to all my friends. And Ill definitely bring my children when its time!! Thank you to the Doctors and staff for being so friendly as well!

Kelli McLaurin My daughter is 8 years old and saw Dr. Klein for her first initial visit. She was very nervous about her appointment and everyone on staff made her feel welcomed and reassured. She left the office so excited she told everyone we spoke with that night about her appointment. She cannot wait to go back and see everyone! Excellent service! Adrienne Wright I’ve been seeing Dr Loughran for a couple of years now and I cannot say enough great things about him and his incredible staff! I was very nervous about getting a crown put on my tooth today, but walking through the door and seeing his receptionist/dental assistant, Cheri, instantly made me feel at ease. She’s always smiling and a delight to talk to! Getting a crown was a breeze and pain free! They are also great with kids. My daughter was terrified to go to the dentist and after having her teeth cleaned by Nicole, she now looks forward to and even gets excited about her dentist appointments. Dr Loughran and his entire staff are very knowledgeable, kind, and take the time to explain procedures and answer questions. If you need a dentist, this is the place to go.

Mckenzie Greener I came from marion family dentistry looking for a new home. I used to have to need nitrous just to get through complete sessions. I had my first molar fixed with Dr. Loughran without nitrous and I was in no pain or uncomfortability. I look forward to seeing what else he does with my teeth in the future. Jody Shimp I went to Dr Loughran after an incredibly bad experience at a dental clinic in Marion. After suffering for weeks in pain and mistreatment by the clinic, Dr Loughan took great care of me and treated my illness ending the suffering. I am truly grateful and appreciate his skill and patient care which extends to his entire staff. Very lucky that he took me as a patient. Lisa Kerley Oh my gosh, this place is great. I needed some wisdom teeth extracted quickly that I had put off for years because of the cost of an oral surgeon and I didnt want the kind of anesthesia that oral surgeons use. Marion Dentures and Dental got me in quickly. I thought it would probably just be a consult and it would be scheduled later. Nope, they had the X-rays done, numbed me up with local anesthesia and boom, 4 teeth extracted that day.

Cameron Twardoski I had a wonderful experience at Marion Dentures and Dental. The front desk staff was very polite and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The assistant, Ciara, was fantastic and made me feel comfortable and welcome, as I have always had a fear of the dentist and she was patient and understanding. The doctor was friendly, professional, and took time to answer all of my questions. They explained the treatment options thoroughly, making me feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. Highly recommend!

Robin Gardner I have had nothing but the best experiences with Marion Dentures and Dental. The front office staff are extremely professional, and the dental assistant and hygienist are wonderful. Dr C has always taken the time to make sure I am informed and feeling comfortable before, during, and after dental work. I have never been comfortable at a dentist office before, and I am very happy to say that is not the case anymore. I highly recommend!

R Susman I was told I would get a permanent crown and he put on a temporary crown. He claimed was permanent, which is not true. Two dentists have warned me this crown will eventually result in decay, loss of tooth and even damage to the tooth next to it. I am going to another dentist to have it removed and replaced with a permanent crown. Unfortunately I have to sue him to have my money returned. This is very unprofessional and unethical on his part. We all trust dentists.

Mary Hampton Dr. Arnold and his staff are the most wonderful, professional, and caring people that i have been too. I have been to several dentist in my life and never been treated like him and his staff has treated me.. He is honest with you from the very start. He is not there to treat you like just another person and about the money, he there to help you get your self esteem back. I will recommend him and his staff to anyone that needs dental work done. Again Dr Arnold and his staff I appreciate all that you have done for me.

Leigh Thompson Will not be returning there. They do nothing but make you feel bad and are extremely rude. I take taken my kids to the dentist since they were 2 for all their routine appointments. I was referred here by our dentist to examine a dark spot our dentist (who isnt a pediatric dentist) saw between our daughters teeth. It was the second time we had to have it examined and its been something they were keeping an eye on. The previous pediateic dentist who we had seen became out of network said it was the way her teeth have formed but to keep an eye on it. When we got there, they were shocked to hear I had ever taken my kids to the dentist as they said my daughters teeth were awful. They gave me looks and made comments about it the entire time. They quoted me some 1000+ in dental care. I cried on the way home not to mention my daughter who then became very self conscious about her teeth and was extremely upset. She was 6. But I took her because I dont want her to have pain or any issues. I switched to them full time thinking our current dentist was the problem and have continued to take her and my other 2 kids there even though its over an hour drive one way. Called this morning to cancel and reschedule my kids appointment and their front counter lady... was so incredibly rude and judgmental that I told her to keep her judgments and attitude and that would be taking our business elsewhere. Never again am I going to do any sort of buisness with them and highly suggest you dont either.

Christopher Capps We take both our kids here and we have been very impressed every time we go by their skill and professionalism in working with kids. The quality of their work is also excellent.

James H This place way overcharges. I was given an estimate of what I owed 2 months ago for a filling that was scheduled. The estimate was $174 remaining of the $196 I already paid. I was then told later that it would be over $230. Funny how the amount just went up for one filling. The tooth was bad and needed to be filled soon, but yet they scheduled her two months after her cleaning. She got sick and had to reschedule again, so they moved it another two month. Now they are telling us that she will have to have a crown. The reason it is so bad is because they schedule their patients too far out. They obviously do not know how to prioritize their patients or charge the right amounts to insurance. Avoid this place if you can and go elsewhere. Update: 02-17-2022 We switched to Marion Family Dentistry and OH-BOY am I glad we did. On the first visit, they had her tooth filled. The same tooth that Dental Care for Kids stated would have to be a crown and over $400 out-of-pocket for the procedure. The cost out-of-pocket at Marion Family Dentistry was only $107 for the whole procedure, which was only a filling. When I questioned the bill at Dental Care for Kids, I was threatened with a lawsuit for "harassments" and my family was shamed in their office. Marion Family Dentistry is amazing. Staff is amazing! They were so good with my daughter. I highly recommend them. This is an honest review and in no way is it any form of harassments. If Dental Care for Kids does not like their billing being questioned and if they do not like one star reviews, then treat your customers better. A refund is not going to make me change my review or take it down (like your office suggested) People deserve the truth and, so they can make an informed decision.

Kathy ONeal This place used to be good. I am not sure what has changed. My sone went in a month ago was told he has 2 cavities but they have NO APPOINTMENTS to get them fixed. We was told they would just have to put him on a list. I called today was told their first available is not until late October. Why do they keep taking more patients of they can not take service the ones they have. This is absolutely ridiculous. That is like going to the hospital for a problem and being told here is the issue but there is no one to fix it. Sounds like to me they are just taking the insurance and patients for a ride.

Carrie Obrecht Had two teeth pulled that were abcsessed. One was sideways. They said everything was clear but I began finding pieces of tooth in my gums causing more accesses. They both dry socketed. I called to get a follow up appointment to be told the dentist I initially seen was on vacation. They gave me an appointment at the Marion one when I told them I was going to er if I could not be seen. The one in Marion took trays and lied saying there was no more tooth fragments in the gum and took pictures of MY EXPOSED BONE, gave me a mouthwash, charged me $30, and treated me like trash when I was checking out. They told me I had to go back to the original dentist. Made an appointment for me 2 WEEKS OUT. Before that appointment they called me threatening to cancel that appointment. By the time the appointment rolled around I had suffered too many issued with my disabling mental heath and was having anxiety attacks over how bad they would mess me up so I could not go back. Im disabled and on Medicaid/Medicare and finding another dentist to hopefully fix this that takes my insurance and has openings had proven to be a nightmare. It will be over 2 months since initial extractions before I can be seen by anyone else. These people should not be in business

Rachel Dawkins My son has been trying to get in for a tooth filling for over a year. The first time they deleted it was because someone was off from maternity leave, so I rescheduled it. Then they did a cleaning, and set up other appointments. Now they have done another cleaning and set it up again For fillings. When I try to file a complaint, I could never get a hold of anybody. I hate that they treat people like this. And I wish that their families would be treated in the same way.

Tom Costa When Dr Settle was there, the office and people were wonderful. However, since he passed, I have been very disappointed. My wife went with a toothache and after she got the numbing shot for the lower teeth, the dentist, don’t know his name, said he wanted to work on the upper instead. She left with a numb mouth and her toothache. I just recently had to get a filling and for the 1st time ever that tooth was sensitive for over a month afterward and the dentist talked like I wasn’t even present and scratched my glasses with some tool. I called last week and no one answered at 9:30 am and they called back 3 days later after I sent them an email. Not the same place that I started going to over 10 years ago.

Sandy Phipps I have been a patient of Dr. Settles forever and he has been a great dentist for both of us. He has taken such great care of my teeth I particular. I was on extremely high doses of Prednisone for an autoimmune disease that left me with a host of problems one being lose of bone, teeth and dry mouth. These caused havoc to my mouth which my old dentist didnt know about. He left the area so we found Dr. Settle and my mouth, jaw, teeth were saved! He was gentle as well as helpful in allowing me to cover the costs that our insurance didnt cover. Unfortunately now due to our insurance not paying for the tripled cost of inflation the dentists as well as the rest of us are feeling when shop, our insurance isnt paying for the updated costs. Our insurance and others are being dropped. We are trying to find another dentist who will take our insurance. We really hate to leave Settle Dental Group as they are great people and are like family to us.

Joe Herman I broke a tooth that required a root canal before a crown. Dr. Todds staff got me scheduled in quickly. The procedure, while not something one looks forward to, went well without any discomfort. The staff is friendly and professional. Dr. Todd was thorough and prepared the tooth for a crown, so my dentist had no prep work to do. I would recommend this office when a root canal becomes a necessity.

Seanna Calcaterra I cant recommend Dr. Todd and his office enough! They are so professional, kind, compassionate, and willing to take the time to explain everything. I was in a desperate state of pain when I reached out to his office for help and they made me feel like I mattered when I needed it the most, while another dentists office had me questioning if anybody could comprehend or even cared about the level of pain I was experiencing. Dr. Todd and his office gave me the hope that I needed to make it to each appointment as they patched me up and stopped my pain. I was ready to give up when I called them and they turned it all around. I am finally pain free and so thankful.

Jennifer Gryzmala So very thankful I found this dentist and his team. I haven’t had great experiences with dentists as an adult. The ease with this one began with making the appointment. I made it at least a month in advance knowing that I did need some work after the initial exam and cleaning. When they called to confirm the appointment, unfortunately I had to reschedule due to a conflict. She rescheduled the appointment, but it was over a month out to get into the Carterville office, but I was put on the cancellation call list. They had an appointment open up the same week I was originally scheduled and I jumped on it although I have anxiety with dentist. The communication via text is perfect. The ladies at the desk were so kind. The dental hygienist was phenomenal and put me at ease. I was embarrassed since I haven’t taken care of my teeth as an adult as I should have. She understood that life happened. She didn’t make me feel judged and really did make the entire experience more comfortable and I’m very thankful for that. When Dr Frederickson came in, he was kind and explained everything clearly, giving me my options and asking me if I had any questions and what I wanted to do. I didn’t feel pressured into anything. I would recommend Dr Frederickson and his entire team again and again even after one visit. This is an office that I will continue going back to. Not only for the action plan for current issues, but for my continued preventative care.
