Uni Japanese Steak House - Jacksonville (IL)

3 /5 Steven Caro: I wanted to give more stars because the food was really good, and the service was decent, but the environment leaves much to be desired. The restaurant is very dated and in disrepair. Many of the benches and booths have torn upholstery (see pics), and the bathroom could be cleaned better. I had the Hibachi Salmon which came with an onion mushroom soup and a salad with miso dressing. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the portion sizes were very satisfying. I would come again for the food, but I wish they would up their game with the atmosphere.

5 /5 jlh0984: I’ve been here several times. Dine in and carry out. I always get something different every time. I’ve never had any issues, staff is always polite and the food is always good.

5 /5 Anon: Ive had Japanese cuisine all over the country, so I know what Im talking about. Uni is a great "do everything" Japanese restaurant. I had miso soup, calamari tempura, and various sushi rolls. All were delicious despite being in a small town nowhere near the ocean. Staff was friendly too. I split the dishes with my father who also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The critical reviewers should be more grateful for a place like this especially in Jacksonville. Id definitely come back if Im ever back here.

5 /5 The RC Guru: I ordered a 2 lobster tail with noodles and broccoli meal and a steak with rice and broccoli meal thru uber eats last night. On a Saturday night at near 4:30pm. Who orders steak and lobster for delivery?! ME! And it was all very good!!!! Never ate from them before and was very pleased. Thanks. Next time we will dine in and dig into some rolls and extras too.
