Allan Mubiru I recently brought my car to Midas on Adlai Stevenson Drive, Springfield, IL, on 4/28/25 for brake repairs, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. The initial service included replacing brake pads and rotors, and they first inspected my car regarding the problems I was experiencing (I have a PDF of that inspection). Initially, the parking brake actuator was noted as okay, but after they installed the parts, I was informed that there was now a problem. The technician mentioned that the caliper was overextended, which caused complications with the brake sensor. This was surprising, especially since their initial inspection indicated everything was fine. After their service, I noticed a blinking park light on the dashboard, which was a new issue. Additionally, the inspection sheet reports a time of 12:30, yet I arrived at the shop at 1:30. I’m puzzled about how they completed the inspection before I even arrived. I expected a higher standard of care and thoroughness, particularly with such critical components of my vehicle. When I raised my concerns, the staff did not provide a clear solution or take ownership of the problem. It seems random that this issue arose after installation, leading me to suspect something was done incorrectly during the process. Now, they are asking me to pay $412.59 to fix the problem that emerged after their service, despite having already paid for the initial repairs that reflected on the inspection report. When i requested a new report that indicates the flashing light on my dashboard they ignored my request. I recommend potential customers to be cautious and ensure that all aspects of their vehicle are thoroughly checked and documented. I hope my experience helps others make informed decisions.

C. D. Came in for a tune-up and rotor and brake pads. MPG went down right away. Brake pads left awful black sooty dust. And rotors started wobbling within a few months. Less than 10,000 on rotors and pads and had to get them replaced again, nearly 500.00. Never going back there.

Very fast work as well, both the times I’ve taken my car in they’ve had it out within 3-4 hours! These people are the real deal and I’ll continue to come back to them and recommend them to friends! Alia Isa From the looks of the reviews it seems that they are very sometimey. Meaning, sometimes they will come through and other times they won’t ! Specifically in my experience they did not . After calling 3-4 times within the span of 2 hours they did not show even after telling me they would repeatedly. If I were in this situation again I would not count on this company, I would create a different plan of action ! Be blessed and stay safe !

We stopped at Midwest on a whim during our test drive. The folks at Midwest immediately got the vehicle on a lift and gave it a thorough look-over. Jay Marie If could give them zero stars I would, please do not take your car here if you ever expect to get it back in a timely fashion. Not only do they take weeks for a standard oil change and diagnosis but the customer service is beyond unacceptable, thats when you can even get in contact with them. Save yourself the head and pain to your pocket because whatever pay them to fix when you finally do receive your vehicle back you will have to pay someone else to fix the same thing. JP BUILD I would recommend these fellas for anything needing fixed on your vehicle and let me tell you, they were friendly, honest, fast, thorough and didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. They charged me WAAAY less than I expected, did more than I expected, installed new parts that were above what I would generally buy... This father son team is it when it comes to auto mechanics. If I could give them more than 5 stars, and if it cost me to do so, Id pay up to give them the extra stars!!! We will be taking all of our cars to them and I will stop doing work that I usually would do and hand them the business. Best experience with a mechanic that I, my ex, my mother and father ever has had ...I couldnt say enough as you can tell. Thanks guys!!!!

Arturo Ramirez Jr Showed up early morning because my oil cap filter was leaking and I couldn’t get it off. They said they may be able to get to it that day based on if their appointments canceled. Well a few hours later they called me saying they got it replaced( I did have the replacement part already) and my oil changed. Charged me an extremely reasonable price and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The guys working there are professional, and courteous. 10/10

Catherine Kane Recently visited Car-X, located on Linton Ave. a few times for car repair service. Having an older car, it was time to replace some parts wearing out. We had Car-X replace exhaust system, brakes and tires. Really happy with results. Dave and staff are friendly, professional, and instill confidence when they recommend services. Costs for services are very reasonable. Will definitely stay with Car-X for future services.

Stephen Strope I had a problem with my vehicle overheating. I brought it into them and they got it in literally the minute I brought it to them. They were very honest and up front on the path that needed to be taken to fix the problem. I dont take it lightly when I recommend someone however, I definitely will recommend them to anyone who asks me for a good mechanic. They did a great job and Ill recommend them to anyone. Great company great work and the price was reasonable.

wrestling matters Vehicle got damaged in their parking lot while got work on and left parts off that i already had that were still good. Also couldnt figure out how to fix my with an idling problem had it for 2 months.

m j Put brakes on the truck, very knowledgeable, friendly and reasonably priced. Also found they do excavation, a very handy thing to know. They have worked on our other truck as well and got it running like a champ after it sat idle for over 2 years. Update - as I stated they do excavation work and we finally got our pool filled in, a work still in progress due to the rain, with a few other odds and ends. Great people to work with.

Nelson Chris (Nelson) These guys were amazing! We are full time travelers and I moronically put an additive in my coolant and ruined my oil cooler in my diesel, they were able to get me in the next day, have it fixed within 3 days and had us back on the road and we were able to stay on schedule, they also found a few bonus repairs too to keep me from having any future problems and the owner Andrew worked extra hours before and after hours to get us back on the road in time. Seriously, these guys are great! If you need any diesel repairs they really know their stuff and they don’t try to price gouge you either!
