5 /5 Jie Chen: Dr. Stevenson is knowledgeable, highly skilled, and personable. I had had gum recession for many years due to genetics and tried grafting without success, and had been told by my previous dentist that nothing could be done. Dr. Stevenson performed fillings that were perfection in both appearance and function. It’s been more than a year now, I no long have sensitivity issues and the teeth feel stronger than before. I’m most grateful!

3 /5 Dawson LaBaw: Very nice people and provide excellent care, but coordination needs some work in regards to insurance and scheduling. Expect to wait in the waiting room despite having an appointment -only went 3 times but waited anywhere between 10-45 minutes after my appointment time. Tried to be accommodating to my insurance fitting my in before the end of the month, but had information wrong about when they bill for the crown requiring me to take extra PTO and didn’t schedule the extra work to be done at that appointment even though they said they did. Disappointed that I will have to fit that on my next insurance which won’t cover as much. But overall, good experience with the people, poor communication with scheduling/billing and coordinating a quick treatment plan.

2 /5 Nicholas Limentato: I have no complaints about the services provided. Everyone is very good at their job and friendly. The reason I am giving a 2/5 review is because I was charged $200 for their laser treatment. It was explained to me at my appointment that it is $50 for this treatment and that it would be submitted to insurance. I have TriCare as insurance, and I hoped they would cover it. This is fine, understandable, and I agreed to it. What was not explained to me until after I received my $200 bill, and after speaking with their billing department, is that insurance companies "almost never" approve this laser treatment, and that it is $50 "per quadrant," not just $50, which means it is an out-of-pocket cost of $200 total. I had to pay my bill and that cant be changed now, but if you have an appointment scheduled, either decline the laser treatment, or be prepared to pay $200 out of pocket because insurance companies do not cover this treatment.

3 /5 Christine Decker: I have been at Hessel for a couple years and felt like I found a new home after my dentists retired. However, I was shocked at my recent visit when I saw a “Goals” calendar at the desk which included things I would expect like “105 new patients,” but further down the list I saw “85 crowns.” I was standing in line for a crown appointment! Now I am not sure if any of the work recommended here was legitimate. I feel foolish for trusting that the providers want my best vs. my dollars. I really don’t want to switch dentists again.

4 /5 Chelsey Norman: Great experience! Great dentist and hygienist! One star off because the office could use a deep clean: the lights have dead bugs that you look at during cleaning and the vents and corners are dusty. I will definitely be going back though!
