Wendy Williams-Humphrey Ive had my share of nail salons here in ChamUrbana, and this place takes the crown! Although this set was simple, compared to what I usually get. But Ill be back to see if they can master thr crazy nail designs I be coming up with. Thanks to the lady, whos name I cant remember. Charge it to my mind and not my heart!

Kaylene Byron First time and will definitely be back! They’re open on Sundays which was the main reason I tried them out and was not disappointed. I got right in as they weren’t super busy and the man who did my nails did an excellent job and was very nice!

Charlene Smith The polish they used was old. And the lady who did my toes knew it because she kept trying to add more coats and keep saying is it ok, no its not ok, hurry up and get done so I can go. This was the first time and the last time.

Sabrina So it had been over 5 years since I last got a hair cut. The last haircut was a very short pixie cut. So I was in desperate need of a cut as I had lots of split ends and it would tangle so easily. Jess was super friendly and knew exactly what I wanted with just the few things I mentioned. One of the things I mentioned was how tangled my very long hair would get even moments after brushing it so she did a rough cut before we went to wash it and it made the whole process a lot easier for both of us as most of the damaged hair was gone. I also enjoyed how easy she was to talk to and we had a great conversation while she was doing my hair. I will definitely be coming back to have Jess do my hair again.

juliette I came in looking for a touch up for my highlights that i had initially gotten there with Madison, she did an amazing job, the color was perfect, the blend was really good , not harsh at all and Madison herself was really friendly. Since my first experience there was overall enjoyable I decided to go back to get a touch up. I didnt book with the hairstylist who originally had done my hair because I needed my hair done soon and her availability just didnt match up. I though it would be fine to get my hair done by another hairstylist but omg I was so wrong. Reading these reviews i think its insane that they charge you a late fee for being as late as 2 minutes because my appointment started 20 minutes after it was scheduled. I personally didnt mind because I was not in a rush but this could have been much more inconvenient to any other person. When we got to the chair the hairstylist I got, Allyson, was sooo rough with my hair. When she was brushing my hair it hurt so much, and even when applying the bleach to my hair i was just wishing the process would be over because of how uncomfortable it was. Even when she went to rinse me the way she washed my hair was so rough, and id like to personally say I am in no way tender headed. When we had our very brief hair consultation, I had discussed with her that my goal was to just touch up my already existing highlights and possibly lightning up some , which she initially said was going to be a partial foil. Also she did not really even use foils for my hair maybe used three to five but most bleached Chucks were just like hanging out which honestly I dont know anything about hair bleaching but that didnt seem right either way she could have explained to me what that was about. Anyways carrying on to the end result i dont even know what happened but for some reason my highlights ended up being darker than how they came in originally. My highlights were so much less blended which I literally mumbled a little prayer to God to please let my hair come out okay. When we finished I was just telling myself that it would look better at home and that it wasnt that bad. Going back to the partial foil, well turns out that changed to a custom color at the front desk. I was charged $290 dollars which i though was a little silly because thats almost as much as I paid for my initial all over highlights, when i just came in for maybe 4 inches (at best) of regrowth. At the end I just paid and went home bummed out.

Reanon Adams-Laws ABSOLUTE AMAZING! Bri’s customer service, her talent and her vibes all around are excellent! Every time I see her I always wanna come back! She works around a budget! She gets it perfect each time! She is a 10/10 and I will always come back! I have her creative freedom and for the last month she has worked hard to come up with the perfect design!

Jacqui Monae I have been going to Jessie for 4 years now and with each set she’s gotten better because she’s passionate about her craft. All the staff are extremely kind and friendly and treat you like family. People are always complimenting me on my nail sets and it’s become my trademark in my workplace and each time I owe credit to Jessie. She pays attention to detail and leaves you satisfied every time!

Megan Zadorozhnyy So, this place is so underrated! I’ve gone to a couple places and by far this is THE place. I’m a picky person when it comes to my nails hair and tattoos. And this is definitely my go to nail place. I know a lot of people say that so… I am gonna upload a picture of my nails I got done like a couple weeks ago at a different salon ( the lady messed them up pretty bad) I came into this shop and Jesse I think that was her name) got me in. She saw all the things wrong with my nails and transformed them into this(check out pic below) I was so happy and so thankful! The nice lady who did my toes did an amazing job as well! She was very understanding and and gentle with my feet! Again. I know you see Walmart and want to run but this place is a diamond in the rust!!!

AniJia Wallace Jessie does a phenomenal job! I have never met a nail tech like her. She schedules Clients by appointment, she is professional and takes her time when doing nail designs. She is very talented & kind. I chose a 3-D tips overlay nail design and I love it. I would highly recommend this shop for ANY style of nails that you’d desire. Please give her grace and be patient with her because she works very hard to take care of all her clients nails and shouldn’t be treated any kind of way. :)

Marsha Dailey I love only one nail tech there. The rest so horrible work. I should not have nails come loose and flop off 8 days after getting them done smh. Overpriced for press on nails

Allison Butler The staff worked me in quickly as a walk in and was attentive. But, the process was very painful and my nails and cuticles are still sore after a couple days. Finished product is okay when looking from a distance but I have scabs on my cuticles and the dip power is bulky around the nail bed. At the end I was up charged and then given a gift card to use for the next visit I will not be going back to use.

Anaya Lee Worst nails I’ve ever had in my life, visited from out of state and made me want to catch a flight back to my nail tech. When I showed someone that goes here often they said they never do nails like this. I feel like they were rushing bc of the snow storm coming.

Brooke Mercer I’ve been going here for a couple years now and I love them! They’re always so sweet and do a wonderful job. They’re super personable and are quick to make connections with their clientele. It is a smaller staff but they still kill it even when they’re busy. Definitely support this small business!

Amber Staton I came in and told them that I needed my nails done for my maternity shoot. The guy who usually does my nails pushed me off on a 18 year-old girl who hasn’t been doing it very long so he could sit in his chair and play on his phone the whole time. I was charged full price for these nails And this is what I get to deal with for my maternity shoot. I would have highly recommended them before this now I won’t go back. It’s sad that this is what I’m going to remember every time I look at my pictures.

Alexus Howard So, originally I showed up no appointment on Thursday morning at 10:30am wanting to get serviced by the lady who sits in the back left corner. Ofcourse she was busy, I expected that. But she offered for me to come back at a later time(noon). I agreed, and when I came back there was still someone in her chair when I arrived. I waited about 15 minutes before she communicated to her husband to start the process of the take off for my previous paint job and to start a fill-in on me. This meant that all she would have to do is shape and paint my nails when she finished with the other client that was still in her chair. Well, this deeply upsets me because I waited 2 1/2 hours for the experience to be serviced by her and in reality was serviced by her husband. Whatever at this point, I just go with it because I need to be to work within the next hour and a half… and just like I expected, my nails came out hideous!!! and I didnt like the shape whatsoever. I still went ahead and paid plus left a tip, only for my nail to break the VERY next day and I’m sure it’s because of the way he laid the foundation incorrectly. So I called and explained to someone over the phone and they agreed to fix it for free, but again when I arrived there was another person in her chair so I waited 10 minutes and when she finished painting my nails the color was definitely off and didn’t match at all. She didn’t say anything so I just left and chalked it up as a lost because I’m usually not confrontational, plus I needed to get back to work. On my way out of the salon, I ran into the husband and I asked for a discount for the next time I came and explained I was pressed for time and the color did not match. I told him how inconvenient it was for me to have to come back again to have my nail be fixed.. this meant coming back for the 3rd time this week!!! Hell no!!!!! Well The husband immediately gets offensive and said he will not honor giving me a credit or discount but that he would fix it for another day because it was free and “I don’t pay anything this time.” Don’t waste your time, you’re just a number to them! I won’t be back and I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know

Destinee Maree DO NOT GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE HERE. They burned me terribly and after tell her she burned me, she proceeded to put alcohol on my eyebrows and a mix of other chemicals to calm the burn which ended up causing even more damage to my skin. My skin is ruined please avoid this place at all cost as their cleanliness and procedures are rapidly declining. This should have never happened!

Abigail Carlin Wow! This place is IT! I came in with the feet of a troll, but I left with the feet of a newborn fairy princess. I came in at 5:30 on a Monday thinking that they closed at 7, but turns out they actually close at 6. They said it wasn’t a problem. I chose the signature pedicure package, and for $45, I received hot stones, hot towels, paraffin wax, massage, clay masks, callous removal, and more! That is an insanely low price for such high-quality service, so I tipped over half of my bill.

Nevaeh Murray the lady that did my nails was very quick and the man who did my pedicure was very relaxing and did a great job. They also got me an appointment the same day - they are friendly and very clean. the one thing is that i do find it a little more on the expensive side. Other than that it’s great! Thanks!

Cheyenne Wendell First time here, and the staff is super kind and efficient! They made sure I was comfortable, going above and beyond while I got my gel manicure and pedicure done at the same time as I was fitting my service in between two appointments. Price was reasonable! If you haven’t been here yet, take a chance! They are great!

Amanda Freden The new owner, Andy, gave me the best manicure I’ve ever had. He was thorough and took his time to get the design how I wanted it. The salon was very clean and I could see that all the tools were sterilized. I was even offered a glass of wine. Great location and very reasonable prices! Thanks so much Star Nails!

Jadaya Owens I went in for an acrylic fill set and pedicure. Andy the new manger was so friendly he listened to what I wanted and did n exactly that. Honestly the best shape I’ve had. Pedicure was relaxing and precise. I will be back

Ayia Evans I went in for a mani pedi and Andy and everyone did an amazing job. I did somewhat complex designs for both feet and hands and it was no problem for them. They’re all so talented and Andy is a nail expert and a great tech. Will definitely go back again!

Molly Norvell Highly recommend! Kim and Mia did great on a gel mani pedi. They stayed late and had a smile on their face while providing the service. The workers were very engaging with the guests and were having fun.

Cheri B Tried this place for the first time today and was totally unsatisfied with their service. I was the only customer there yet it took three different people to do my nails. And I literally got a simple fill in. I normally do multiple colors and rhinestones but I was rushed into making a color selection. The lady Helen held all of the color rings instead of letting me personally look through them. So I just decided on a simple black just to get the hell out of there. And my fill in was mediocre to put it nicely. The guy nail tech who worked on my nails was extremely rude and I didn’t appreciate the way he yanked my hands around. They will never receive another penny from me. No bueno.

Sidney Stevens Staff was very friendly and helpful. The pedicure comes with a relaxing hot stone massage. Prices were reasonable and were discussed at the beginning so there were no surprises at checkout. Another patron with limited mobility came in and they were very accommodating. I will definitely be returning!

Ashley Geyer EDIT FOR 3/30/2025: Always great. I usually see Tao, but Ive seen the others do good work as well. However, I find a lot of the walk in clientele to be very rude. Most of these complaints that Ive seen were usually the fault of the reviewer. If you see they are busy and you walk in, expect a wait. Thats just how it is. And no, they cant tell you an exact approximate time. Ive been coming for a few months now and have never been disappointed. Did a walk in for some acrylics. They were busy but still got me in a chair quickly. Showed a picture of the design I wanted and it was done beautifully. I have to have shorter nails for my profession but these still look sleek. All my coworkers go here as well. Will be coming back!

Shauna James This was the worst experience ever. I initially asked for a pedicure and an overlay for my nails but after being cut in my cuticle, and having this end result i decided to go else where. They didn’t refund me but after asking for over an hour for someone else to fix it, another lady finally came and assisted my pedicure and cleaned up what the other woman left. I will not be returning… They also spoke openly in English and harshly about other customers after they left their shop, while other customers while present.I didn’t feel welcome at all and I’m a great tipper and very simple customer… Normally I don’t leave reviews but after this I truly felt like I had no choice $60 later and felt horrible after I left. Please do better. Good luck!

Dakota Thrasher I got my nails done 4 days ago and 2 have already broke! I payed 60 dollars for a fill and it hasn’t even lasted me a week! I used to love going here especially for the convenience. If you do decide to go here ask for Kevin! Everyone else cannot shape a nail for the life of them.
