    5 /5 Kaylee Armfield: i’ve been to many of the nail salons in the area & taj nail bar is by far the best one! summer does an outstanding job! my nails looked fresh for three whole weeks (first picture) loved it so much, i came back and the same thing (second photo) plus a pedicure. highly recommend taj! i am so pleased with everything!

For my 4 year old granddaughter‘s very first manicure it was terrible: her manicurist looked angry the whole time, did not make eye contact with my granddaughter, did not say one word to her, did not give her one smile. And I walked out with smeared thumbs because they didn’t even have quick drying spray or a place you could sit to dry your nails not to mention I had to ask for a fan to dry my granddaughters nails and when I went to get the fan to dry my nails since they didn’t even offer me a fan, (I smeared my thumbs) They didn’t even say goodbye or say thank you to either of us: My thumbs were smeared the day before our Families Thanksgiving. Our experience was a horrible one from the time we walked in till the moment we walked out. My only regret is that we did not turn right around and walk out. My second regret is they got paid for such a terrible experience: You can be sure I will be taking my granddaughter for her very first GOOD manicure experience in the near future. 1-18-25 UPDATE The granddaughter I speak about in my review above two years ago still feels the same regarding going to this nail salon at 6 yrs old. Just look at her in the pic I posted and look at the technicians face. For my granddaughter‘s first experience, she did not get one smile nor eye contact and No conversation: and even if the women couldn’t speak English the least she should’ve done for a four year-old girls first experience was smile at her. I see I’m not the only one giving this place bad reviews either. Someone I personally know went there today and saw my review while writing her own review about her terrible experience today and told me about it. I can’t believe she gave a tip either because they made her cuticle bleed on two of her nails, not to mention how the tech couldn’t even get the colors that she requested correct no matter how many times she told him what colors she wanted: He still got it wrong. She said she just accepted the colors he put on her nails because he just wasn’t understanding. I stand by what I said no matter what a nosey customer’s opinion was of me that day. She obviously has never experienced what my four-year-old granddaughter and myself had to experience going to this place. Had I seen this comment two years ago, believe me I would have responded then. Talk about bias. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If this place is where this person wants to get her nails serviced have at it. I’ll never go back. And now neither is my friend. Had I known this was the place she was going to get her nails done before her vacation trip I would have encouraged her to go somewhere else. Save yourself a headache and find another place.
    1 /5 Rachel Stegman: Soo.. I’ve been here before, but it was a few years ago. I decided to try it again after going to Ocean Nail Spa in O’Fallon IL in December.. and the experience wasn’t that good for me. I was going to give a 3 star, but I’ll explain why I gave a 1. The young man who did my pedicure and manicure, didn’t provide what I had asked for. First, I had requested and showed him the metallic silver I wanted for my toes and the color that is actually on my toes, for my fingers. I’m not sure if there was a language barrier but he just wasn’t understanding my request (even after I had showed him my colors), and when I had corrected him, he said “yes, silver on toes and white on nails” so I felt comfortable, until he started putting the color on my toes and I noticed it wasn’t silver! So I told him that wasn’t the color, so instead of showing me the colors again to make sure it was the correct color this time, he just went ahead and asked the lady coworker what color was the color I wound up with. He showed me and it looked silver enough, but I knew it wasn’t the correct color because this isn’t metallic silver. I was on a time schedule due to my kids being watched by my mom.. so I went with it. Cool.. next, it was time for my manicure. I was adjusting my seat and the right sandal broke. I left it alone so I wouldn’t mess my toes up. So he starts on my nails with cutting and filing them and removing the previous gel, except he missed getting some and it’s still on my thumb (in the picture).. and then starts on the color! This guy uses the white that is used for french tips!!! I immediately stopped him and told him this isn’t the color I had asked for. He said “you said white..” I said “let me show you, again!!” So he got the color book and I told him “this” was the color silver I wanted for my toes and the color he put on my toes, I wanted for my nails.. but because he had already used that color, I went with another one which isn’t my favorite. He even cut my finger cuticles to where they have little red spots from my skin being pulled off. But the icing on the cake (for the 1 star) was that when we were done, I told him about my sandal breaking and asked for another one. Instead of providing me with an another sandal, he decided to start touching my toes and told me that my toes were dry and that it’s fine for me to put my socks back on. I was questioning that as I have gotten my toes done many times, and it usually takes a lot longer for them to dry, but I went with it and put my socks on seeing he was touching them. The picture of my toe are the results of my socks coming off, and it really messed my nail polish up. Even some of the cotton is stuck to the nail polish!!! And mind you, I felt obligated (even though I shouldn’t have) to pay a 15% tip.. so I spent about 90 bucks on all of this. I feel I should get my toenails and fingernails redone at no charge, as I am going on vacation on Monday and it’s very urgent to get my toes at least looking not so clumpy. I’m very disappointed in this experience. This has been by far the worst one yet. And I hardly have bad experiences at nail salons.

The staff has become like family and I have recommended several friends and coworkers and all of them have been very pleased with the service. Everyone is professional, kind and very talented. I have always had a positive experience. Summer takes the time to really think about designs and styles I would like and is always spot on. Anna is an excellent owner and treats her staff wonderfully. Nick is amazing and is my go to for pedicures. A coworker goes to Jordan and she has loved her nails each and every time. He picks the color she wants and provides her with a great experience. My friend and I come every third Thursday for our nails and Summer and Jayden deliver each time. My nails have grown and are strong. I can’t say enough wonderful things. 10/10 would recommend!

    Ziggy Bear: The experience was horrible, I genuinely hated it, front desk was fine but once I got to the nail tech she kept indirectly pointing out how impossible it was to get the polish, to which she could’ve just turned me away. But instead she still put an acrylic nail. This was for a simple repair, the design was completely botched and the color didn’t even match remotely to the original design and color. I’ve been to a lot of nail salons for repairs and each one get it similar to the other nails but not only was it not close to the original color, when I tried to mention it was the wrong color she proceeded to explain how each nail salon is different, yet every salon but this one could fix it nicely. Also somehow something happened and now my nail is in agonizing pain when it wasn’t beforehand. I wouldn’t have even gone if my regular nail salon wasn’t open. Now my sensory issues keep going off real badly and I’ve had difficulty breathing due to how much I’ve been hyperventilating. I’m getting this fixed at my Normal nail tech and cancel my other plans tomorrow. The attached photo I shouldn’t have to explain, it’s the index finger and the gold should be the same throughout the nails but it’s a light gold and the design looks like it’s been zoomed in. Ill add a comparison too. They made me pay $15 for it too and it’s this bad. I might as well rip the nail off whole, my visual issues can’t handle looking at it for much longer.

    Pam Casey: Stop to get a pedicure!!! Awful I purchased a $50 one to get the wax stones and hot towels. I could not get the lady to cut my toenails because she said they were too short which they wasn’t. She did not try to get my ingrown out. She brought some cold rocks over there and it’s 37° here Then she brought cold towels over and put on me. They were cold as heck. I was trying to tell the lady and they didn’t act like they cared they went and got some more rocks and put hot water in a bowl and try to get them hot. It didn’t do anything then she brought some cold towels After that. I asked her if she minded putting my sandals on before she painted they did not turn the heater thing on that you put your feet under it was cold as ice. Normally, they use a dryer. She said well I can put some more towels on you. I said they’re cold. I asked the lady that was doing my feet. That barely gave me a massage. She said I said is your machine broke and she said yeah that’s why they didn’t heat up. she didn’t even offer me a discount. I was in there to get my nails filled and a wax on top of my pedicure Still had to pay the $50. No respect I wouldn’t wish that on anyone I don’t think the younger girl knew what she was doing. Worst !!!! I travel all over the United States for work. This is the worst. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad one I live in Texas. They take care of you.

Today was my second visit to this establishment. Both visits have been exceptional. I believe I have found my forever nail spa. You may ask why. Let’s talk about it. #1 Great Customer Service. #2 A very Clean, Calm, and peaceful atmosphere. #3 Great Price. No hidden fees or upcharges. #4 Location. #5 Appointment only. #6 Honors appointments by being timely #7 Other customers are very nice and friendly. #8. Various payment methods #9. Yeah) She lied and refused me looking at another color book, it was only after her and her coworker was standing in front of me pointing and talking about me that she then got up and came back with two books which she threw at me without saying anything (after she said, she only has one book in the store). I was getting acrylics and after the color was on it was lighter than I was expecting. She said it was because it’s for dip nails not acrylic, which she didn’t tell me and she got upset that I didn’t like the color after she left out information. Also, I’m confused on why she was having me look at colors she knew 1. I Wasn’t going to like. And 2 is not for my nails. Plans were not working, I was trying to come up with a new design and color pattern last minute to ACCOMMODATE to them! I don’t know if she didn’t want to do all of the work like if she just wanted a simple color, maybe the girl felt embarrassed that she couldn’t do anything I wanted, but that is still no excuse for how she treated me. She insulted me and told me I was wasting her time. She told me I was being extremely difficult because I didn’t know what I wanted when I came in (I was ready the store was not.) She sat there and tore me down while I cried(I am not one to cry in public, I try very hard not to get emotional and to just breathe so for me to sit here, snotty nose, make up running down my face, shaking, crying it was BAD!), after I told her she was making me uncomfortable and that I wanted to leave she got more mad! When I went to leave, she attempted to charge me a full set, the audacity and frustration made me cry more, I told her I’m not paying for a full service I did not receive, she said she would make my total $10. That did not happen. They refused to fix it. I’m still in awe of this woman’s “professional” behavior. Hopefully the BBB can get them sorted out, if not GOOD BYE!!!

    Jessi Thornton: I have debated making this review but the longer i look at my nails the more I dislike them. I went for a fill and one repair. I asked if the tech could do the below photo and she said she could, referencing it many times. I ended up with one nail globby, thick and much shorter than every other nail (this being the repair), and all my other nails were very thick. As far as the design, i will let the photo speak for itself.

    Kayla Davis: Been coming here faithfully for over 2 years now. My schedule is usually chaotic so I normally have to do walk ins for a hair cut. ALL OF THE STAFF are so sweet and friendly. I have had at least 4 different people cut my hair over the last 2 years, and ever single experience was wonderful, every cut fantastic.
